The RE/MAX
Story
RE/MAX International, Inc., is a Denver-based real
estate franchise organization with offices across the United States, Canada,
Mexico, the Caribbean, Europe, South Africa and Israel. Recognized by the
home-buying and-selling public for its red, white and blue balloon logo and the
“ABOVE THE CROWD!” slogan, RE/MAX has been the number one residential real
estate network in Canada since 1987 and is a leading industry force in the
United States.
In the early 1970s, Dave and Gail
Liniger set out to create a real estate company that would attract and retain
full-time professional sales agents. In exchange for sharing in office overhead
and paying management fees, associates would receive both the highest possible
compensation for their efforts and the benefits of a variety of traditional real
estate franchise services. The name they gave the program was “RE/MAX,” an
acronym for “real estate maximums.”
RE/MAX gradually expanded across the
continent, attracting top producing Sales Associates and causing competitors to
reexamine and adjust traditional commission-split programs. Recognized as the
premier agents in residential real estate, RE/MAX Associates, as a group, lead
the industry in real estate experience, professional education, individual
transactions, and commission income.
