Demand response Dial-A-Ride service is provided 365 days per year. Cost one way within the community or to Sun City, Sun City West or Youngtown is $2.50. The remaining costs are subsidized by contributions from the community, plus matching funds from the Regional Public Transportation Administration. Hours are Monday through Friday 7:15 a.m. to 5:30p.m. Saturday, Sunday and holidays are 7:15 a.m. to 3:30p.m. It is suggested you call in advance for reservations.

Bus connections with the SCAT system are provided in the Sun Cities. With these combined services, riders can be picked up at their door, delivered to the Park and Ride Facility, catch a bus for Metro Center, Paradise Valley Mall, Scottsdale, Mayo Clinic or any other location served by Valley Metro. Bus stops are just east of the 99th Ave. and Peoria Ave. intersection and at the corner of 107th Ave and Clair Drive.

The American Red Cross provides a variety of free services to the handicapped and elderly residents of Sun City, Youngtown, Sun City West, Peoria, El Mirage and Surprise.

These services include free transportation for the elderly and the handicapped to and from medical appointments and recreational centers in those communities.

It is required, however, that the Sun Cities-Area Transit System (SCAT) be used if at all possible, and the Red Cross may verify that they were unavailable.

Transportation to and from doctor appointments in Phoenix is also available. Vans are equipped with wheelchair lifts and operate Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
